Fed; Poll shows public wants Hollingworth to quit
MELBOURNE, Feb 24 AAP - Australians overwhelmingly believe Governor-General Peter Hollingworthis unsuitable for the position and should resign, a poll has shown.
Questions regarding the future of the governor-general were put to 510 voters in anationwide poll conducted on Friday and Saturday by the Roy Morgan Research Centre, with68 per cent saying Dr Hollingworth should resign.
When asked whether they believed Dr Hollingworth was a suitable person to hold theposition of governor-general, 69 per cent said he was not, the centre said in a statement.
